My Place: Music Industry Mogul Lou Adler

Lou Adler had a hand in producing many chart-topping songs including this one from Carole King's 'Tapestry' album.

That bearded, beret-wearing man who often sits next to actor Jack Nicholson at Los Angeles Lakers' home games is music industry mogul Lou Adler.
Adler is a songwriter, record producer, record company owner and motion picture executive.
He is famous for creating hits by Jan & Dean, Johnny Rivers, The Mamas & Papas and Carole King. Adler also helped bring 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' to America.
This week on My Place, host Joel Najman features the first of a two-part series on the career in music of Lou Adler.

Joel has been a part of Vermont's radio scene since 1964. He began his career at WIPS in Ticonderoga, New York. In 1965, he moved to WFAD in Middlebury, Vermont, where he attended Middlebury College. Over the years, Joel worked at radio stations WJOY, WQCR, WDOT, WDEV and WVAA where he served at various times as Morning Announcer, Program Director and News Director.
