iStock
2015, Vermonters had the fewest babies sincce the mid-19th century. We're talking about how Vermonters make the decision if and when to have kids.

Last year, fewer babies were born in Vermont than any other year since before the Civil War. How do Vermonters decide if and when to have kids?

We're looking at the social trends involved, as well as the very personal factors that potential parents might be considering.

We're joined by Vince Bolduc, professor of sociology and anthropology at St. Michael's College. And by Josilyn Adams, one of the co-owners of the Burlington Vermont Moms Blog

During the program, we mentioned this report on the availability and cost of childcare in the state.

Also on the program, a conversation with Major General Steven Cray, adjutant general of Vermont, on issues facing the guard, including including military deployments overseas, the status of F-35 fighter jets coming to Burlington, mental health issues, and other initiatives the Guard is engaged in.

Broadcast live on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
