For the last nine years, VPR has invited 25 or so of the most active commentators in the year just past to an annual Commentator Brunch event for Broadcasters Club members.
The 2015 Brunch was held on Saturday, June 20, at The Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee. The food was excellent and views of the lake were stunning.
This annual event is popular with staff, commentators, listeners and guests; audiences average around 200 people; voices and perspectives are both diverse and entertaining.
This year, VPR commentators presented two-minute readings on a common theme: "Nothing Ventured."
The afternoon was full of Flying Leaps, Risky Business and Lessons Learned. Some stories were very serious, others were very funny and a few were both.
Until now, we haven’t had a practical way to bring this event to a larger audience, and have contented ourselves with choosing just a few for broadcast. But this year, we’ve added a new option.
