This month, the Senate Judiciary Committee found bipartisan approval for the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act that supporters say turns back the clock on mandatory sentencing laws. Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy has long served on that committee, and it's one of the issues we'll discuss in a live interview at noon.
We'll also look at whether the U.S. Senate will take up the debate over gun control legislation in the wake a more mass shootings; what role Leahy says the U.S. should play in the conflict in Syria as Russia becomes more deeply involved in the civil war there; and whether debate over whether to raise the U.S. debt ceiling and other budget questions could trigger another shutdown of the federal government.
Broadcast live on Fri., Oct. 23, 2015 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
