VPR Cafe: Food Brings Burlington's Pine Street To Life

Sally Pollak

One of the many food truck choices on Pine Street in Burlington is this Korean beef bowl from Dolce VT.
"If you can name a food, you can find it, you can eat it" - Sally Pollak

Burlington's Pine Street was once an industrial center near the shore of Lake Champlain. Over the years, the street lost the factories and became something of a wasteland. Now, however, Pine Street has come to life with a host of eateries.  Sally Pollack, who writes for The Burlington Free Press, said "If you can name a food, you can find it, you can eat it." You can learn more about the revitalization of Pine Street and take a walking tour in her Free Pressarticle.

The VPR Cafe is produced in collaboration with The Burlington Free Press.

Broadcast on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 10:50 a.m.

Franny was VPR's Director of Programming & Production.
Ric was a producer for Vermont Edition and host of the VPR Cafe.
