Live performances in our area this week by Los Lobos, Dar William, and James Keelaghan (to name but a few) and a marvelous new multi-disc release highlighting some of the best by Dave "Snaker" Ray, one of the great acoustic blues guitarists.

The Flynn Center in Burlington presents Los Lobos on the Mainstage Wednesday October 1st at 7:30 p.m.

Rick Norcross and his Ramblers will hold a CD release party for their new disc “Wecome to Our Vermont” on Sunday October 5th at 4 p.m. in the Juniper Room at the Hotel Vermont in Burlington.

Susannah Blachly and her band Two Shoes Off will perform at the Marshfield Harvest Festival on Sunday Oct. 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the Old Schoolhouse Common bandstand.

The Twangtown Paramours will be at the Brandon Music Café, 62 Country Club Rd. in Brandon, on Saturday October 4th at 7:30 p.m.

Vermont Celtic Band Extra Stout will be at Positive Pie in Montpelier (?) on Sunday October 5th from 4 – 7 p.m.

Session Americana Returns to The Village Hall at Parker Pie Co. on Friday October 3rd – two shows; TWO SHOWS 8 & 9:45 p.m.

The Deborah Rawson Library in Jericho presents Kim & Reggie Harris on Sunday October 5th  at 2 p.m.

Four Corners Concerts presents  Christine Lavin & Don White in concert Saturday October 4th at 7:30 p.m. at the Hartland Universalist Church, 6 Brownsville Rd. Hartland 4 Corners.

Bagitos in Montpelier presents Colin McCaffrey and Friends on Thursday October 2nd from 6 -8 p.m. and an Irish music session on Saturday October 4th from 2 – 5 p.m. 

The Colonial Theater in Bethlehem, NH presents Dar Williams on Thursday October 2nd at 8 p.m.

MountainFolk's 2014-15 concert series at the Tunbridge Town Hall kicks off on Friday, October 3rd with the return of Scotland's legendary Tannahill Weavers. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7.

Café Lena in Saratoga Springs presents Roy Bookbinder and Jeremy Lyons on Saturday October 4th at 8 p.m. and James Keelaghan with David Gunning on Sunday  October 5th at 7 p.m.  

Ruthy Ungar and Mike Merenda will perform at the Ripton Coffeehouse on Saturday October 4th. As always, the headliners are preceeded by the famous open mike at 7:30 p.m.

The Good Times Café in Hinesburg presents Michael Jonathan on Saturday October 4th at 8:30 p.m.

Vermont singer/songwriter Michael Iula will play at Radio Bean in Burlington on Sunday October 5th at 7 p.m.

Willa Mamet and Paul Miller will perform at the Whammy Bar in Maple Corners on Friday October 2nd.

The Bondville Boys will play on Sunday October 5th at the Manchester Fall Arts and Crafts Festival

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
