Summer is a great time to get on the bike. From new technology and gear, to ever-present concerns about safety, on the next Vermont Edition, we get an earful from cyclists who take to paved roads, back roads and mountain trails throughout the state. We talk with Emily Boedecker, executive director of Local Motion, which advocates for bike access and helps people get into the sport of cycling. And we talk to Andy Bishop, a former pro cyclist who rode in the Tour de France before going pro in mountain biking. We also learn what's new in the world of gear from experts at the West Hill Shop in Putney.
Also in the program, an update on the natural gas pipeline through Addison County. We learned at the beginning of July that the cost of Phase 1 of the pipeline was substantially higher than projected, prompting the Public Service Board to invite comments on the increased price tag. VPR's Taylor Dobbs joins us to explain who weighed in and what they had to say.
Broadcast live on Tues., July 22 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
