Art Hounds: Opera, Steel Drums & Pioneer Days

Opera lover Nicholas Zeoli of Hubbarton recommended the 20th annual A Night of Opera at St. Joseph's College in Rutland this Saturday at 7 p.m.

Ann Waterfall of Norwich suggested the free summer concert series on the green in Norwich beginning Friday, June 27. The line-up includes a Caribbean steel-drum band, Celtic music, oldies and classic rock.

Susan Brisee of Underhill recommended the Vermont Youth Dancers' performance, Carry On, which is loosely based on the Les Miserables story. Performances are Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21 at Mount Mansfield Union High School in Jericho.

Multimedia artist Christine Hauck of Hartland suggested the third annual Hartland Jazz Fest. The weekend kicks off on Friday, June 20, with a film screening of Talking Sticks and Saturday, June 21, over 60 live jazz performances from noon till 8 on the Foster Meadow field near the library.

Julie Nelson of Barre recommended the Vermont Historical Society Vermont History Expo this weekend at the Tunbridge Fair Grounds.
