Art Hounds: Portraits & Watercolors

Educator and arts lover Abi Sessions from Cornwall suggested Kate Gridley's portrait exhibit at the Amy Tarrant Gallery at Burlington's Flynn Theater through April 12.

Passing Through captures young Vermonters in life-size portraits and recorded sound portraits. The gallery is open Saturdays and next Friday, Kate Gridley will give an artist talk about the exhibit.

Karen Cornish from Hinesburg recommended Vermont watercolor artist Libby Davidson’s 50 Before 50 Project, up at the Emile Gruppé gallery in Jericho.

Davidson painted 50 watercolors to celebrate her 50th birthday and the entire collection, along with her diary entries is on display through February 23.

Jane Olefson in Waterbury suggested the Meet The Artistnight at the Grand Isle Art Works Gallery on Route 2 in Grand Isle. The event is Saturday, February 1 and begins at 5:30.

Sherry Thornberg from the Ottaqueechee Health Foundation suggested the locally-produced film, The Hungry Heart, which tells the stories of several Vermonters struggling with opiate addiction.

That free showing is next Thursday, February 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Woodstock Town Hall.
