Tue 9/24/13 Noon & 7PM Last session the legislature mandated that all students in grades 7 through 12 develop personalized learning plans. What does that mean exactly? Some schools around the state have been experimenting with personalized learning for a while, and Mount Abraham  High School in Bristol is one of them.

We’ll get an in-depth look at the program at Mount Abe with John Clarke, author of Personalized Learning: Student-Designed Pathways to High School Graduation, and with state Board of Education member Krista Huling. Leave your comments or questions below or write to vermontedition@vpr.net

Also in the program, a Vermont Reverend who’s also a principal at a college in Pakistan, talks about the deadly bombing in Peshawar this past weekend, at a Church where he’s preached over the past 2 years.

And finally, we'll get our kicks on Route 66. That's State Route 66 in Vermont- it's 10 miles long and runs from Randolph to East Randolph.

A graduate of NYU with a Master's Degree in journalism, Mitch has more than 20 years experience in radio news. He got his start as news director at NYU's college station, and moved on to a news director (and part-time DJ position) for commercial radio station WMVY on Martha's Vineyard. But public radio was where Mitch wanted to be and he eventually moved on to Boston where he worked for six years in a number of different capacities at member station WBUR...as a Senior Producer, Editor, and fill-in co-host of the nationally distributed Here and Now. Mitch has been a guest host of the national NPR sports program "Only A Game". He's also worked as an editor and producer for international news coverage with Monitor Radio in Boston.
Sage Van Wing was a Vermont Edition producer.
