Thurs 8/22/13 Noon & 7PM One out of six children in the US is obese. Gracie Cavnar has been working to change that. She's the founder of Recipe for Success, The Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education Program, and author of Eat It! Food Adventures with Marco Polo.  And for part of the year, she lives in Woodstock, VT.

We'll talk with Gracie Cavnar about her work on solving the childhood obesity crisis by changing the way children eat.

We'll also hear from former Vermont Attorney General Kimberly Cheney who was at the March on Washington 50 years ago.

And, finally, we'll re-air one of our favorite summertime series: a profile of people at the state fairs. This time, we'll hear from alligator wrestlers.

Jane Lindholm is the host, executive producer and creator of But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids. In addition to her work on our international kids show, she produces special projects for Vermont Public. Until March 2021, she was host and editor of the award-winning Vermont Public program Vermont Edition.
Sage Van Wing was a Vermont Edition producer.
