Art Hounds: Garage Bands And Art Auctions

Thursdays at 4:50 p.m. & Fridays at 7:55 a.m.    Event organizer Dick Harper of Highgate Springs suggests a trip down memory lane with an outdoor concert in Highgate Center this Sunday.

Founding members of the local and legendary rock band, The Davis Brothers Garage Band, open the night followed by country music artist Dick Prescott.

Arts enthusiast Pam Allen from South Hero recommends "Take a Seat in the Islands," an art auction this Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the community center in North Hero.

Patrons can bid on then purchase a hand-crafted bench, made by Vermont woodworker Nick Durso that have been painted on by various local artists.

Nancy Heatley of Perkinsville recommends a trip to the Equidae Gallery in Saratoga, New York to see the oil paintings by equine artist Suzanne Nielsen.
