My Place For 30 Years

It's official: Joel Najman is a Vermont broadcasting legend! Last week the legislature passed a resolution honoring Najman as a "rock and roll impresario."

We'll talk with Joel Najman about his long career, his love of music, and how he puts together his extensively researched shows. We'll also play some tunes! Email vermontedition@vpr.net or leave your questions or comments for Joel Najman here.

Joel Najman's show My Place has been on the air with VPR for 30 years this spring, but he's been spinning tunes of the 50's and 60's and talking to Vermonters from various radio stations since the early 1960's.  He started at the Middlebury College radio station WRMC when he was a student there, and over the years has worked at WIPS, WFAD, WJOY, WQCR, WDOT, WDEV, and WVAA. In 2004 he was inducted into the Vermont Broadcaster's Hall of Fame.

Unfortunately due to music rights issues, we will not be able to podcast this show.
