Last week the House passed a bill which would require all new construction within 250 feet of a lake shoreline to get apermit. Opponents say the bill imposes a burden on small landowners. Some environmentalists say the bill doesn't go far enough.
We'll discuss the pros and cons of lake-shore development restrictions with David Deen, chair of the House Fish and Wildlife Committee, Robert Helm, Representative from Fairhaven, and Kim Greenwood, water program director for the Vermont Natural Resources Council.
Post your questions or comments about shoreline development here or email them to vermontedition@vpr.net.
Also on the program, the Vermont Republicans have hired a new political director. We'll talk to Brent Burns about what he expects from his new job.
