After Monday’s warm spell caused river flooding around Vermont, cold temperatures last night meant icy roadways today. The VA Hospital in White River Junction is stepping up security. The move follows vulnerability assessment that showed many V-A facilities needed more safety measures. Fletcher Allen Health Care wants to construct a new building that would contain 128 private patient rooms. Rockingham's select board has signed off on plans to put in roughly 1,200 feet of sidewalk in Saxtons River, near the village's school.

But public radio was where Mitch wanted to be and he eventually moved on to Boston where he worked for six years in a number of different capacities at member station WBUR...as a Senior Producer, Editor, and fill-in co-host of the nationally distributed Here and Now. Mitch has been a guest host of the national NPR sports program "Only A Game". He's also worked as an editor and producer for international news coverage with Monitor Radio in Boston.
