State officials and the contractor building Vermont Health Connect have reached an agreement that sets a new schedule for launching missing functions and includes additional financial penalties for missed deadlines.

Vermont State Police say one person is dead following a shooting involving a Brattleboro police officer during the search of hotel room that was part of a drug investigation.

Vermont revenues were strong in March, coming in to the general fund at about 6 percent above expectations.

 

Mary Carol joined Vermont Public in January of 2013. She began her broadcast career 25 years ago as news director at WEZF in Colchester. She has a BA in Economics and Fine Arts from St. Michael’s College and an MFA in acting from Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. She appeared in various roles over the years on the stage of St Michael’s Playhouse, and teaches young actors in The Broadway Workshop summer camp at St Mike’s.
Annie Russell was VPR's Deputy News Director. She came to VPR from NPR's Weekends on All Things Considered and WNYC's On The Media. She is a graduate of Columbia Journalism School.
