Vermont Agency of Transportation Deputy Secretary Sue Minter says the possible shortfall in federal transportation funding could hurt jobs in Vermont. A committee in the Vermont House has endorsed a bill to study the amount of tax revenue the state would receive if sales of marijuana were legal in Vermont. The Vermont Department of Labor says the state's unemployment rate has dropped to 3.7 percent, the fifth lowest rate in the country. The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife is urging people to take down bird feeders because hungry bears are beginning to emerge from winter hibernation and finding there isn't any food because of the late spring.
