The Vermont Lottery commission wants to install new game machines in bars and restaurants to raise more revenue. The lead developer for wood-fired power plant in Springfield says he won't try to appeal a state board's decision to deny a permit. Governor Peter Shumlin has signed an act requiring respectful language for referring to people with disabilities in all Vermont laws. The Chittenden County Transportation Authority says it will attend a mediated meeting this weekend with the bus drivers' union in hopes of ending a strike that has now lasted five days.
