A Vermont lawmaker wants access to government documents that might show what taxes the Shumlin administration would use to pay for single-payer health care, but the governor’s office says it will keep the records hidden from public view.

A new group called Vermont’s Coalition for Universal Reform has just put some financial weight behind the lobbying push for single payer health care in Vermont.

The towns of Vernon and Rockingham, along with energy company TransCanada, will use a mediator in an effort to agree on the value of hydroelectric dams along the Connecticut River and avoid a trial.
