Unofficial results indicate 15 communities approved a Town Meeting resolution calling on the legislature to establish a public bank. The non-binding resolution was voted down in four towns. One of the most contentious municipal races of the year ended Tuesday night when Montpelier Mayor John Hollar defeated challenger Gwen Hallsmith. School budgets were rejected in many communities yesterday, sending a message to local school boards and lawmakers that the proposed tax rates were too high. But public radio was where Mitch wanted to be and he eventually moved on to Boston where he worked for six years in a number of different capacities at member station WBUR...as a Senior Producer, Editor, and fill-in co-host of the nationally distributed Here and Now. Mitch has been a guest host of the national NPR sports program "Only A Game". He's also worked as an editor and producer for international news coverage with Monitor Radio in Boston.
