In a surprise move, voters in Vernon slashed the town’s police force from the budget last night. Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger says he hopes lawmakers will take action to approve changes to the city charter that will restrict guns in the city. In Middlebury, voters approve a $6.5 million bond vote for the construction of a new town office building as well as a public recreation and athletic facility in town. Voters in Wilmington have voted down a measure that would have established an emergency/disaster fund.
