The Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living says that new cases next year will once again exceed what has been budgeted for. As a result, the department has asked regional agencies to make cuts to help cover the additional cost. A Vermont Army National Guard brigade is going to be taking part in a three-week training exercise in Louisiana. The board of trustees at the Vermont Veterans' Home is considering a proposal to allow installation of 87 solar panels on its land northwest of the complex. 21 people are out of their homes in Winooski, after a fire damaged a multi-unit building. No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is not yet known.

But public radio was where Mitch wanted to be and he eventually moved on to Boston where he worked for six years in a number of different capacities at member station WBUR...as a Senior Producer, Editor, and fill-in co-host of the nationally distributed Here and Now. Mitch has been a guest host of the national NPR sports program "Only A Game". He's also worked as an editor and producer for international news coverage with Monitor Radio in Boston.
