Lieutenant Governor Phil Scott wants to delay the implementation of the state’s new health care law for several months so that all the technical problems associated with Vermont Health Connect can be ironed out. In valley locations, farmstands are still flourishing thanks to a longer than normal growing season. But at the Killington ski area, manmade snow and a light dusting from Mother Nature helped the resort kick off an early start to the ski season. After an unusually warm October, most of Vermont’s gardeners are finally seeing killer frosts, and even some snow in some parts of the state.  But in the Upper Valley, the harvest goes on, as VPR’s Charlotte Albright learned when she dropped by a roadside farmstand.

Peter was a Producer/Announcer at VPR until 2015. He began his public radio career in 2007 at WHQR-FM in Wilmington, North Carolina where he served as Morning Edition host and reporter, covering county government and Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base. His work has won several Associated Press awards and has appeared on NPR's All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, and PRI's This American Life. A graduate of the creative writing program at the University of Maine at Farmington, Peter enjoys writing, cooking and traveling.
