Sen. Bernie Sanders says he’s disappointed a federal appeals court ruled against the state’s attempt to close VT Yankee. VT GOP Chairman Jack Lindley is criticizing Attorney General Bill Sorrell and his fellow Democrats for trying to close VT Yankee.  The cash-strapped Woodstock Union Arena has received a short-term reprieve that will allow it to stay open. The Midway Diner on Route Seven in Rutland is closing to make way for an IHOP. The Shelburne Museum is officially opening its new Pizzagalli Center for Art and Education, which will make the Vermont museum a year-round operation.

Peter was a Producer/Announcer at VPR until 2015. He began his public radio career in 2007 at WHQR-FM in Wilmington, North Carolina where he served as Morning Edition host and reporter, covering county government and Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base. His work has won several Associated Press awards and has appeared on NPR's All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, and PRI's This American Life. A graduate of the creative writing program at the University of Maine at Farmington, Peter enjoys writing, cooking and traveling.
