Hurricane Beryl brought flooding across the northern half of the state on July 10, closing down roads on the anniversary of last year's cataclysmic flood event. Other roads were not closed down but the state advised caution due to the potential danger of flood waters.
There were also high-water rescues of dozens of people in multiple towns, including Berlin, Underhill, Barre, Stowe and Lyndonville.
The heaviest rains fell Wednesday night from Addison County through Chittenden, Washington, Orange, Caledonia, and Essex counties. A 50-mile swath of the state received about 3 to 5 inches of rain from several rounds of thunderstorms, with places in Hinesburg reporting nearly 6.5 inches.
