We've received a few questions about how to get tickets. They are available directly from The Moth's website, and they generally go on sale one week before the event.
All the stories are being recorded for possible broadcast or feature on The Moth's You Tube channel.
Original post: We are thrilled to announce that The Moth is coming to Vermont for a series of Story Slam contests in 2014!
The series kicks off on Tuesday, March 18 at the Skinny Pancake in Burlington. Guests are invited to prepare a five-minute story about a maiden voyage - your first kiss, first overseas trip, or any first time.
Show up at 7:00 p.m. to sign up to tell a story, volunteer to be on a judging team, or just settle into your seats and buckle up to listen to the show. At 8, the first storyteller will be picked at random and the show will begin. Each teller will have 5 minutes to tell his or her tale.
After each story, the judges confer, and give a score. The teller with the highest score becomes the StorySLAM winner and will compete at the next GrandSLAM Championship! You can learn more about how StorySLAMs work at The Moth's website.
The Moth is in the process of scheduling 13 Story SLAMs througout Vermont. Here is a list of the dates and locations so far - we'll add to the list as more information becomes available, or you can check at The Moth's events page.
